Trauma & PTSD Support Group

 

Focus:Emotional trauma and its resulting psychological injuries, PTSD, C-PTSD, DESNOS, and ASD.Additional materials and discussion for depression, anxiety and other related disorders.

 

Addressing:Trauma symptoms related to abduction, kidnapping, trafficking, sexual assault, sexual abuse, incest, domestic violence, child abuse, military, injury, traumatic death, natural disasters, secondary trauma (e.g. witnessing violence), and other traumatic events.While we focus primarily on symptom management, additional materials and resources will be recommended for specific experiences.

 

Structure:

 

Hour one:Weekly, structured assignments in The PTSD Workbook and the Post Traumatic Stress Disorder Sourcebook, followed by chapter or section discussion and related holistic activities.Group closes to new members after week three.

 

Hour two:Open discussion and holistic-healing activities.Group remains open to new members throughout the 8-week session.

 

Cost:Sliding-scale donation of $160 - $320 for 8 weeks, based on income

 

Organized:This is a peer support group, structured and managed by Rev. Tiffany Diane Moon.I am a metaphysical minister, holistic-wellness educator, and pedagogue specializing in educational program design for specific needs.Our group is a collaborative effort of its members. While I have experience in individual holistic care and group management, my roles in our group are to structure study, provide and share tools for self care, and to assist in maintaining the safety and security of the group, but I am a peer, not a mental-health professional, and members must take responsibility for their own safety and self care.

Support Group for

Survivors of Abduction & Kidnapping

 

Focus:Sharing of the abduction experience as it relates to coping skills today, discussion of related life events, interactions and trauma symptoms, and the development of coping skills.

 

Addressing:Survivors of childhood or adult abduction or kidnapping of any type or length. Group members may share openly about experiences of being abducted by strangers or family members, regardless of the length of time they were taken or missing and whether they were regarded as missing by family or authorities.Materials, resources, and discussion about related trauma symptoms and disorders.

 

Structure:

 

Hour one:Weekly, structured assignments based on Youíre Not Alone:The Journey from Abduction to Empowerment, and other publications related to the experiences of group members.Supplementary, structured assignments in one or more guided materials focused on trauma-related symptoms.Each followed by chapter or section discussion and related holistic activities.Group closes to new members after week three.

 

Hour two:Open discussion and holistic-healing activities.Group remains open to new members throughout the 8-week session.
